Nick Joaquin


Nick Joaquin-was born in Paco on Calle Herran, as the the son of Leocadio Y. Joaquin, a lawyer and a colonel of the Philippine Revolution, and Salome Marquez, a schoolteacher.Philippine novelist, poet, playwright, and essayist writing in English, the National Artist for Literature. Joaquin is widely considered the best postwar author in his country. He has written largely about the Spanish colonial period and the diverse heritage of the Filipino people.Prose and Poems (1952) was followed by the Barangay Theatre Guild's production of his play, A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino. The title refers to James Joyce's famous book, not without ironic tone. A Portrait is considered the most important Filipino play in English.

Carlos Bulosan


Carlos Bulosan-Filipino writer and poet. Carlos Bulosan was born in Binalonan, a small village in Pangasinan Province in the central Philippines, on 2 November 1911. In 1942 he published a volume of poetry entitled Letter from America and in 1943 another book of poems, Voice of Bataan, a tribute to those soldiers who died in that battle. America Is in the Heart (1946), considered by many to be his most important work, is a semiautobiographical book describing his boyhood in the Philippines, his journey to America, and the many hardships he encountered as a Filipino and migrant worker in that country.

Music as Literature..(bow)..




For me, literature is just like music..Well the words we use are sometimes are meant to be sang and expresses the feelings we hide inside.Some people find music as a way of expressing oneself like literature.
